To Whom it may Concern
My name is Lukas Pfeildorf. I am a monk at the Temple of Shallya, here in Altdorf. Sister Matilde has kindly indicated she would be prepared to forward this missive to the relevant authorities of gracious Shallya’s Order of the Chalice.
I hope my letter finds you well. While
I am a loyal and diligent member of Shallya’s Order of the Bleeding Heart, recent
events have made me consider that my calling, in her name, may be found
elsewhere. I understand that Shallya’s work is difficult and unceasing, and
much of it must be mundane and thankless. However, I believe I can bring value
to the organisation going forward in the capacity of an agent of the Order of
the Chalice. I have had recent experience in dealing with agents of the fly
lord and have dealt with organisation technicalities, and structural
downloading from a blue-sky perspective.
I formally apply, therefore, for
a place in your order where I will be expected to seek out and deal with incursions
of the fly lord and all his foul minions, associated conspiracies, and dark
cults, to the benefit of the people of the Reikland and Imperial subjects beyond
her borders. I believe I can bring expertise to the role, calling upon recent experience
in thwarting his nefarious schemes.
Please find enclosed a description
and analysis of the prospective invasion and a plan for mitigating similar incursions
going forward.
I can also leverage good faith connections
and contacts throughout Altdorf society and beyond including those in the colleges
of magic, prospectively among the witch hunters, the nobility, the rat catchers’
guild, and in farm management and forage procurement.
I would urge you to consider this
application in the light of the ineluctable progress of darkness and the lengthening
shadow falling across the Old World.
My hobbies are reading and
history. My strengths include motivating teamwork, acting on my own initiative,
while facilitating group action. And my greatest weakness is being too diligent
at rooting out the agents of the fly lord.
Yours sincerely
Lukas Pfeildorf
